Choosing Plastic Surgery

By

There are many different types of surgery available and I thought that I would write about them and explain what exactly they are and what they do.

There are several different types of plastic surgery available; the most common involve the body, face (such as botox and nose surgery) and hair.

Plastic surgery for the body has the aim of create a more toned and slimmer figure. One such popular form of surgery is liposuction which takes out excessive fat deposits from the body. Other forms of body surgery are tummy tucks and arm lifts which take away excess skin and so make the body firmer.

People like having a full head of hair as it’s a great sign of health. Losing hair prematurely happens to many people and the quality of the hair people have change over their life quite dramatically. There have been many techniques developed to combat the loss of hair which incorporate either medicine or surgery. However, as there are many different forms of hair loss the situation needs to firstly be examined before the exact treatment can be specified.

The removal of hair is also something and this can be achieved via laser hair removal. This technique destroys the hair follicles which stops them from growing hair again in the future. As hair does not grow back with in a few months, it is one of the most permanent forms of hair removal.

A common technique to increasing the amount of hair a person has is via a hair transplantation. This technique involves the moving of hair follicles from one part of a person’s body to the parts of the body which require more hair. This is often a balding scalp on a man’s head.

Face surgery is something quite common and can cover a wide range of different treatments. Some facial surgeries can involve surgery which reshapes the nose and others which can remove sagging skin.

One form of facial surgery is BOTOX and this involves botulinum toxin injections are used to relax the muscles which result in wrinkles or lines on the face. Any type of facial expression, such as smiling, make the muscles around the eyebrows, lips and eyes compress which can cause these lines and wrinkles to appear over time.

Obviously, over time, these wrinkles and lines become more obvious and so people put facial surgery at the top of their list of surgeries as time moves on. The botulinum toxin injections have the effect on the ability of muscles to contract and so can mean that the prominence of wrinkles is reduced.

Another form of facial surgery is rhinoplasty and this is the molding or forming of the nose. The adding or removing of bone or cartilage can be used to do this or grafting tissue from another part of the body or implanting synthetic material to alter the shape of the nose.

It can be performed either to improve the appearance of the nose or to improve the function and is usually performed by a plastic surgeon, oral surgeon or otolaryngologist.

I hope that has given you some more information on plastic surgery (often known as rhinoplasty surgeons) and if you are looking to have some performed then you will now be more informed on your choices.
